FSKKP Postgraduate Day 2017

Kuantan, 26 April- FSKKP Postgraduate Day was organized successfully with two wonderful events: ‘FSKKP Poster Competition’ and ‘FSKKP Postgraduate Dinner. Both events were organized by the FSKKP Postgraduate Society.

The venue of the FSKKP Poster Competition was Block X, UMP, Gambang. The event was part of the colloquium activity but it also aimed at encouraging quality research and improving various skills such as presentation and communication of postgraduate students. The competition was divided into two categories: PhD and Master. The high percentage of participation from the Postgraduate students (total 75 participants) showed their commitment towards quality research. Winners from both categories received cash prizes (first RM 300, second RM 200 and third RM 100). Certificates of participation were presented to all the poster presenters.

The Postgraduate Dinner and Appreciation Night was organized on the same day at Mangala Resort & Spa to end the Postgraduate Day. The program provided students the opportunity to bridge them with supervisors, appreciate their achievements and commitment towards the faculty. The program started at 8:30pm with Doa.

FSKKP Dean, Prof Dr Kamal Zuhairi Zamli closed the Postgraduate Day with his inspirational closing speech. Various awards such as Best Thesis, Supportive Postgraduate Students and Supportive Alumni have been awarded to appreciate and motivate postgraduate students. Different groups of students from Malaysia, Yemen, Sudan and Nigeria entertained the participants with their thrilling performances. Surprise gifts were presented to lucky participants and prizes were awarded to the best performance groups.

A total of 12 surprise prizes were given to lucky winners among the participants. Best dress prizes were given to two members of staff (one male and one female) from the Faculty. Similarly, best supportive postgraduate male and female students were also selected. The Prince and Princess were chosen from the postgraduate students and were given crowns and prizes. Participants enjoyed the performances from two Malaysian student singers and Malaysian cultural dance from a group of female Malaysian students. A group of Yemeni students and a group of African students dazzled the participants with their thrilling dances. Special prizes were given to the best two performance groups.
